Ramsay Santé appoints Margareta Danelius as Group Medical Director

  • To support the initiatives set out in its Yes we care 2025 strategic plan and pursue its mission of "Improving health through constant innovation", the Group has appointed Dr Margareta Danelius as Group Medical Director.
As Group Medical Director, in the service of excellence, quality and safety in the care of our patients, Margareta will be responsible for leading and coordinating the work carried out in the various countries as well as and sharing best practices within the Group's medical community. The members of the Executive Committee join me in wishing her every success in her new role"

Margareta Danelius is a doctor specialising in internal medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology. She has almost 35 years' experience in the healthcare sector, first as a doctor and then as a Medical Director and Director of Operations for hospitals, specialist clinics and primary care centres, for public, private not-for-profit and private for-profit operators. 

She joined Capio in 2016 as Regional Medical Director for Primary Care. In 2017 she was appointed Medical Director of Capio Go before being appointed Medical Director of Capio - Ramsay Santé in Sweden in 2019. Since August 2023, Margareta had temporarily interrupted her duties within the Group to take on the medical management of two clinics in Lebanon as part of a humanitarian mission for Médecins Sans Frontières. She is also a member of the Ramsay Santé Mission Committee.

She was appointed Group Medical Director on 15 April 2024.
